Novice Breakfast

Posted: September 30, 2011

Our novice breakfast is this Sunday for all new rowers and their parents.
Where: North Shore Rowing Club, Lake Pupuke
When: Sunday 2nd October
Time: Please arrive at 8.15am for an 8.30 start
We’ll be outlining what to expect for the season, and it’s a good opportunity to meet the other parents, and a number of the “old hands” will be around to ask any questions you may have.

Spring Camp

Posted: September 15, 2011

Spring Camp is next weekend. By now, you should have received and email with the packing list and further information.
Basically, everybody will be meeting at school Friday 8am in travel uniform, and returning Sunday evening. Novice rowers (who won’t have travel shirts yet), should wear school sports shirt or PE shirt.
Tip for new parents: Have your son text on the return trip on Sunday when he is in sight of sky tower or harbour bridge (you may need to adjust the landmark according to how far away you live from school). It’ll give you an idea of how far away he is, so you aren’t sitting at school waiting waiting waiting…

Changes at Hobsonville

Posted: August 16, 2011

Some of you will be aware that there is lots happening out at Hobsonville – including a major redevelopment around the waterfront of which construction gets underway next month.
Understandably, this is going to have quite a big impact on us over the next few months and one of the first things we need to do is relocate our current skiff compound down by the oar shed so it is out of the way of the construction path. The back sheds where we store boats are also being taken away (we have been given another shed to move to) so we need to move things around up there too.
What we need now is plenty of hands to help out over the weekend of Saturday 27th to Sunday 28th August. Both days will kick off at 7am and there will be something to do for everyone – so please don’t think you have nothing to offer!
Please contact Aaron with the days/day that you will be able to help and let him know what gear if any you may be able to bring.
Please don’t ignore this request. WE NEED YOUR HELP. Rowers, parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors… All are welcome. As the old saying goes, many hands make light work. So don’t be shy – now is the time to step up and help your society.
